Composition Shingles

Composition shingles, also known as asphalt composition shingles, are used on nearly 80% of the residential roofs in Sonoma County.

The basic construction of the composition shingle is a fiberglass mat at the core with an exterior asphalt coating embedded with crushed rock (colored granules). There are many different styles and grades to choose from. The most widely used are called “architectural” or “dimensional”. All manufacturers offer a limited lifetime warranty. Heritage Roofing can also provide you with an extended warranty upon request.

Heritage Roofing did a great job at installing GAF Timberline HDZ Architectural shingles on my home. We chose the charcoal color and it looks great!... We were pleased with every part of our roof- the synthetic underlayment, the ice and water shield, the drip edge, starter shingles, ridge vent, hip and ridge cap shingles, and of course our beautiful architectural shingles. Way to go Heritage!

Please be aware that the colors you see in print and on computer screens may not accurately reflect the true hues. We suggest that you request a physical metal sample before placing your order to make sure you make the right choice for your final paint and color choice.

A step up from the architectural shingles are the designer shingles. These come in many styles and thicknesses to emulate wood shingles, wood shakes, tile, slate, and other designs. Because of the price premium accompanying these composition shingles, they are usually reserved for composition roofing on custom-built houses. They typically carry a 50-year product warranty.

We install GAF TimberlineCertainteed Landmark , and Owens Corning Duration shingles. We are a GAF Master Elite certified installer and feel these are the best shingles on the market today.

Due to the affordable cost, enhanced appearance, and long-lasting durability, shingles are by far the most practical choice for residential roofing or re-roofing in Sonoma County.
